Capping off a tremendous year of growth and success, XR Games’ ‘Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded’ won 'Best in Gaming' and 'Best in the World’ at Australia’s premier XR festival awards.
XR Games Takes Home Top Two Honours at the 2023 Australian XR Festival Awards

Held at ACMI in Melbourne, Australia from 19th - 21st December, the Australian XR Festival Awards showcase and celebrate leading talent in the creative tech industries including those working in Gaming, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Creative AI, Animation and Digital Arts.
The strong line-up of 25 finalists included industry heavyweights Sony Pictures VR, XR Games, Ubisoft, Atari, Sugar CS, T&DA, Arvore and more.
The awards ceremony concluded the three-day Australian XR Festival, which included industry events and a public showcase, offering the opportunity for people to experience some of the world’s best creative technology in person.
Not only did Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded win ‘Best in Gaming’, but it was also awarded the best International submission across all categories, leading to it being crowned ‘Best in the World’. The judges were blown away by the craftsmanship of the work on Zombieland Reloaded, as well as the creativity.

Festival Director and Founder Matt Kirby was blown away by the quality of the award submissions, as well as the public response to the festival.
“It was amazing to see the reactions of people of all ages experiencing VR for the first time and wanting to learn more about how they can get a device in their home or business. It was also fantastic to see gaming fans enjoying battling it out in their favourite games on the massive screen at ACMI,” he said.
