More than 2,300 people applied for the scheme during the nine week application period, resulting in a 427% increase in applications compared to its inaugural 2023 scheme.
Such an increase shows just how important schemes like this are, and how much hunger there is from new developers eager to join the XR development scene.
With the submission process closing in late December 2023, XR Games has already notified successful shortlisted candidates, who will now undergo a rigorous evaluation process. Shortlisted individuals are set to take part in a testing phase scheduled in January, with the final cohort of interns to be selected in February and March.
We’ve been blown away by the amount of quality candidates who applied for the scheme, and it’s been a difficult process to shortlist just a few applicants to take to the next stage.
The final interns selected through this meticulous process will join XR Games in June 2024, embarking on a journey to work within our teams on cutting-edge projects and gain valuable hands-on experience.
